Having functioned as an intrapreneur and an entrepreneur, Jehan CanagaRetna brings over 35 years of general management expertise with a strong emphasis on marketing and business development. During this period, Jehan has gained domain expertise in general administration, marketing and management, apparel, HR consulting, service sector, event management, conservation and ecotourism both in Sri Lanka and overseas. Described as energetic, focused and driven adopting a commonsense approach, Jehan has built strong business relationships and contacts locally as well as internationally, including USA, Bangladesh, Kenya and India. Having lived and worked in the USA, Jehan also was a C-level employee of Mast Lanka (Pvt) Ltd and MAS Active Pvt Ltd before changing careers.
Jehan completed his high school education at Royal College Sri Lanka and his tertiary education (BA) & postgraduate (MBA) education in the USA. He has lived and worked in the USA for approximately 10 years. He has held / holds positions in social and non- government organizations being the past President of the Ceylonese Rugby & Football Club, the current President of the Wildlife Nature Protections Society (WNPS) and a former Council Member of the Sri Lanka Rugby Union. He is also the Country Representative for Rainforest Alliance, Sri Lanka, a crop certification organization from the USA. He serves on the Board of Greenpeace South Asia and is a Trustee of the Ceylon School for the Deaf and Blind (CSDB – Ratmalana and Kaithady, Jaffna).
